Lesson 3 Initials

Congratulations on completing all lessons for pinyin finals and welcome to lesson 3 - pinyin initials. Initials are like consonants in English. One pinyin syllable usually includes one initial and one final.

There are 21 regular initials and 2 extra special initials. This lesson will break them down into four parts.

At the end of this lesson, you should be able to

Pronounce 23 initials correctly.
Differentiate between similar initials.
Reflecting the difference of pronunciations between pinyin and English letters.
Pronounce pinyin syllables correctly with your knowledge of initials and finals.

Go through the 4 levels in order to learn the 23 initials.
